Emotional IQ

Important in regulating one’s own emotion and guiding children to regulate their emotions, ease interpersonal conflicts and contribute to the children’s emotional and social development.

Learning Motivation

Knowledge within early childhood education is constantly expanding. Our educators need to be passionate about keeping current and working positively with change.

Learning Agility

Casual educators who work frequently in new settings should have high levels of learning agility to learn from unfamiliar experiences and apply those lessons to succeed in new situations.

Resilience

In this high impact and high intensity work, it is important to maintain a positive outlook and be able bounce back from challenging situations.

Education and Care Focus

Being patient, tolerant and having a relaxed style allows educators to help children reach their milestones and develop to their potential.

With a background in commercial cooking, I enjoy doing cooking sessions with children. I believe there should be more group times with all the children in the room. Group time gets the children ready for school and allows the children to discuss topics in a group…

The Maria Montessori Diploma covers over 50% child psychology which helps us to understand, respect and accept children’s behaviour. Having ran a family day care service for the last 5 years, I would love if children in centre based care are more involved in activities that are beneficial to their life skills such as woodwork, cooking and gardening. I try to get my children exploring the outdoors more.

With the trend of introducing technology in early childhood, I would be able to give solid introduction to the children in a way that is easier to understand. Technology offers unique possibilities and getting our children to acquire basic technology skills early to ensure they are ready for their future life. When with children I always encourage them to try out new things and let them that it is okay to not succeed the things you try at first. I find this allows children to remove hesitation and enjoy the process of learning. I would love to bring more early childhood awareness about the Australian Aboriginal culture. I would incorporate different painting styles.
